Dear Colleagues:
It is my pleasure to announce that Dianna Rose has been selected as Foothill-De Anza’s
next vice chancellor of human resources and equal opportunity. She will begin work in the position on Sept. 16.
Dianna brings more than two decades of human resources leadership experience to this role. She is deeply committed to the diversity, equity and inclusion work so central to our district’s identity, and I believe that her engaging and collaborative leadership style, student-centered approach to problem-solving, and commitment to building relationships based on trust, integrity and respect align well with the district’s mission and my vision for Foothill-De Anza as a nationally recognized employer of choice.
As vice chancellor, Dianna will serve as my chief advisor on strategic matters related to human resources and employee relations and will work with the executive team in strategic and long-range planning for the district. She will also work to modernize systems and workflows, creating a culture of service and ensuring that Human Resources offers a superior employee experience.
“I am thrilled to join the district’s new executive team and look forward to playing a key role in achieving the chancellor’s vision for Foothill-De Anza,” Dianna said in learning of her selection. I have
had my eye on this district for a long time. Foothill-De Anza always seems to get
it right. I look forward to working collaboratively with the Human Resources team and everyone at the district toward meaningful change.”
Since July 2022, Dianna has served as vice president of human resources and equal employment opportunity for Hartnell Community College District in Salinas, a position responsible for all human resources and employee relations functions for the college district, including recruitment, selection,
classification and compensation, benefits, workers’ compensation, performance management, and labor contract negotiations and administration.
Immediately prior to taking the position at Hartnell, she served as City College of
San Francisco’s deputy chancellor of human resources, compliance, risk management & safety. In her more than five years at City College,
the district’s Board of Trustees twice turned to Dianna to serve as interim chancellor to cover vacancies in the top role. Her experience also includes human resources management positions at San Joaquin Delta Community College District, City of Stockton,
County of Orange, San Juan Unified School District, and Oakland Unified School District.
An active member in good standing of the California State Bar, Dianna holds a Juris
Doctor from University of Utah College of Law, a Master of Business Administration
in human resources management with an emphasis in training and organizational development from Westminster College in Salt Lake City, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to PPL search consultants Diane Clerou and Pam Walker, search committee chair Anu Khanna, and search committee members Rich Booher, Joel Cadiz, Nancy Chao, Karen Hunter, Debbie
Lee, Beijing Li, Scott Olsen, Simon Pennington, Voltaire Villanueva, and Jerrick Woo for working over the summer with an accelerated schedule to find us such
a great candidate. I also want to thank Pat Hyland for coming back to the district
during our time of need and helping our new vice chancellor get off to a good start.
I am excited to have Dianna join the district executive team. I know I can count on
each of you to welcome her and support her success.
Best regards,
Lee D. Lambert, J.D.
Chancellor
