Personal Statement
As a Chief Business Officer with a broad range of management experience coupled with my prior tenure in the multi-college Los Angeles CCD, the solicitation for the Vice Chancellor of Business Services presented not only an outstanding opportunity but a seemingly good fit. It would allow me to move into a critical leadership position in one of the larger districts in the state. The philosophy espoused by the Chancellor emphasizing teamwork and a spirit of collaboration is consistent with my own leadership style. The Chancellor describes herself as a “change agent” which suggests to me that this is an organization that embraces an entrepreneurial spirit. It is that sort of pioneering mindset that provides a venue for personal and professional growth. This is the type of organization in which I would seek to serve and grow.

My background, in addition to finance and administration, is uniquely suited to providing leadership in overseeing the execution of the district’s bond program. That the community was willing to support a follow-on bond to complete the vision initiated in 1999 reflects a strong sense of confidence in the institution and its leadership. I would welcome an opportunity to help bring the vision to fruition.

Personal Statement
The primary responsibility of the Vice Chancellor of Business Services is to provide administrative support for the dynamic learning environment at Foothill-De Anza that fosters excellence, opportunity and innovation to meet the needs of diverse students and the community.

My qualifications for this position include over 20 years of successful experience as a chief business officer at the community college and university levels. Additionally, I have successful teaching experience in community colleges and at the university. Through these experiences, I have developed a hands-on understanding of the importance of an administration that fervently seeks ways to provide needed resources. My approach is to work with all segments of the college to focus on college initiatives and priorities that enable success for all students. With limited resources available, it is critical to support maximum flexibility in the allocation and use of funds to better address individual student needs.

The budget development process must be open and transparent to the entire campus community. All voices must be given an opportunity to be heard and all requests considered. My passion is to work with the students, faculty, staff and administration at Foothill-De Anza to develop new and innovative ways to support students in the achievement of their goals.
