Foothill College Hosts Live Broadcast of KQED Radio's Forum

 


Foothill College was the site for the Nov. 17 live broadcast of KQED Radio's "Forum," focusing on California community colleges. Michael Krasny serves as host of the award-winning public affairs program heard throughout Northern California.

Panelists for the first hour on the topic of budget challenges included Martha Kanter, chancellor, Foothill-De Anza Community College District; Steve Boilard, director, Higher Education Section, Legislative Analyst's Office, state of California; Kee Hoon Chung, president, Associated Students of Foothill College; Phil Day, chancellor, City College of San Francisco; and state Senator-elect Joe Simitian.

The second hour of the program focused on the role and future of California's community colleges. Panelists were Paul Starer, English instructor and president of Foothill's Academic Senate; Ruben Lizardo, capacity building director, Training and Technical Assistance, California Tomorrow; Bernadine Chuck Fong, president, Foothill College; and David Wolf, co-founder, Campaign for College Opportunity and executive director emeritus, Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges.
