Assemblymember Ira Ruskin, in collaboration with the California Assembly Higher Education Committee and the Campaign for College Opportunity, will host “Invest in the Future: A Dialogue on College Opportunity and California’s Future," at Foothill College on Dec. 1. Confirmed speakers include Ruskin; Bernadine Chuck Fong, president, Foothill College; Liz Cara, president, San Jose Sate University Faculty Association; and Mark P. Diamond, president and CEO, Contoural Inc. The event is part of a 20-city series of events hosted by the Campaign for College Opportunity and partner organizations throughout California.
The briefing will include the findings of a landmark study by UC Berkeley researchers on California's demographic future and the return on investment in expanding college opportunity. Event details follow:
