On October 16, 2006 the Board appointed the following seven individuals to the Oversight Committee.
Ralph Adams – Representative, Taxpayer Association - A Construction industry professional since 1969, Adams has been Project Manager for the San Mateo County Community College District and Sequoia Union High School District, as well as a Bond Consultant for the Pacifica School District and the San Carlos School District.
Phyllis Bismanovsky – At Large - A graduate of the De Anza Nursing Program, Bismanovsky worked in nursing management for Kaiser Permanente Hospital for 28 years. Her volunteer experience includes serving on a Grand Jury, Silicon Valley Library System citizen advisory board, and Friends of the Mountain View Library.
Dexter Dawes – Representative, Business Organization - Dawes has served on many corporate boards including Embarcadero Publishing, which produces the Mountain View Voice, Palo Alto Weekly and other publications. He was the CEO and Chairman of SteriFX as well as Puffin Designs and John Hancock Capital Growth Management.
Carol Johnson – At Large - Johnson is a Program Manager at Adobe Systems and has worked for the tech industry for the past 30 years. She has been attending both Foothill and De Anza Colleges for the past year and a half enhancing her career skills.
James Sandstrom – Representative, Senior Citizens’ Organization – Sandstrom is a longtime resident of Mountain View with experience in the defense industry, at ESL, and at TRW. He was Director of Budget Operations for five years for the Electric Power Research Institute, a nonprofit organization. He is a board member of Avenidas, a non-profit group that helps mid-Peninsula seniors live well and maintain their independence.
Jim Walker – Representative, Foothill-De Anza Auxiliary Organization - Walker has been a philanthropist and deeply involved member of the community for many years. He served as Vice President for the Cortana Corporation in Menlo Park. Walker is a member of the Cupertino Rotary Club, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Foothill–De Anza Colleges Foundation. He has been a member of the De Anza College Commission since 1993.
Sarah Wiehe – Student Representative - Wiehe has an extensive background in education, both as an administrator and as a student. She was on the Advisory Committee for Education Services for the Community College League of California, and served for 2.5 years as a Student Trustee for the Foothill–De Anza Community College District. She currently attends Foothill College and is simultaneously working on an M.L.A. degree from Stanford University.
