To mark the anniversary of the Brown v. Board of Education decision,
which provided for desegregation of schools, the diversity offices of
Foothill and De Anza colleges sponsored an address by Melba Beals
(center), one of the "Little Rock Nine" who broke the barrier of
segregation. Pictured with Beals are Foothill College President
Bernadine Chuck Fong; Foothill Dean of Faculty and Staff Warren Hurd;
Foothill student Louis Robinson, president of the CalSACC Black
Caucus; and Foothill-De Anza Chancellor Martha Kanter.
