Foothill, De Anza Rank at Top for Transfer & Graduation

In EDsmart's ranking of California's top 15 community colleges, De Anza scored as the No. 1 large college and Foothill as the No. 1 midsize college based on their graduation and university transfer rates, which far surpassed the other top-rated schools.

De Anza led the website's list with a 72.7 percent graduation and and transfer rate, the highest in the state.

"De Anza is known for more than its transfer rates—the school also boasts a remarkably diverse student population and excellent animation program that is ranked among programs from universities like New York University, UCLA, and USC," according to the website.

EDsmart lauded Foothill not only for its 68.8 percent graduation and transfer rate, but for its "stunning" campus, Silicon Valley connections and extensive online education program.

"Strong academics give Foothill College a high transfer rate to universities around the state and country, making it the second highest ranked schools in the state," according to EDsmart.

"(I)f your goal is to attend a four-year university, the name of the game is to pay attention to the graduation and transfer rate of the community college,'' the EDsmart website advises students.
